Stephen Lees “Painting has never been a career or a job, it has always been something that I would do just for my own pleasure. Painting is an evolutionary process – my style changing unnoticeably on a daily basis however, I never see this change just as we do not notice our children growing on a daily basis….but don’t they grow up quickly!”
Stephen takes inspiration from all around him to produce contemporary interpretations of British seascapes,
landscapes and abstract paintings, which are characterised by a vivid use of colour & richly textured acrylics. Stephen’s style is unique and highly recognisable and, together with his distinct subject. Inspiration from his gallery on the cobbled street of Lymington.
Marilyn Allis took part in the channel 4 watercolour challenge, more recently appearing as the guest artist in Fraser & Friends, a splash of colour and SAA live workshops. She has written 3 books People are scary (really), Animals on the Loose & Painting Dorset in Watercolour. She regularly writes articles for the Paint magazine. Her extensive travels around the world teaching on cruise ships inspire her which she brings to her workshops & demonstrations.
She is a loose impressionistic painter capturing light & movement in her work. Her acrylic painting is created using large flat brushes and painted at speed. A easy technique that create a vibrancy and energy. You will paint two painting on your day with Marilyn using big flat brushes. such a therapeutic experience. No chance for inhabitations.
